I spent years bouncing between cramped gym rooms and generic fitness classes, but I always left with the same tight shoulders I brought in.
Finding a calm space that doesn’t feel scary is tough. So I compared class variety, introductory offers and facility perks across the city to find the best yoga studio in Calgary.
These studios can help you build a routine you’ll stick with.
How much does a yoga class cost in Calgary?
A yoga class in Calgary costs from $20 to $25 for a drop-in to $120 to $160 for an unlimited monthly pass. An introductory month sits in between at $39 to $69.
| Option | Typical price (CAD) |
| Drop-in class | $20 to $25 |
| Introductory month | $39 to $69 |
| Unlimited monthly pass | $120 to $160 |
1. Metta Yoga Calgary

Website: mettayogacalgary.com
Address: #412, 500 Country Hills Blvd NE, AB
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 AM – 8:30 PM | Wednesday and Friday, 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM | Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Sunday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
A stiff, aching back needs more than standard stretching. Metta Yoga Calgary runs a Wall Yin series that uses the room’s walls to decompress your spine safely. That gives beginners and desk workers an easy way to hold deep, restful poses without straining.
They also run bodywork in the studio. You can book treatments with registered massage therapists trained for 2,200 hours, who blend deep tissue work with prenatal care.
I really like this setup because expectant mothers can ease muscle soreness right after gentle movement.
Their community side stands out too, as weekly karma classes send donations to local charities.
However, they lock the door on latecomers, even if you arrive one minute late. They also don’t rent towels, so you’ll need to bring your own.
Great Regular Experience and Clean Studio
I have been attending yoga classes regularly at Metta Yoga for about 6 months, and it has been absolute great experience!
Yoga instructors here are welcoming, knowledgeable and passionate. I like Brandi, Darryl, Garry and Jenny’s classes the most, but other instructors are also amazing.
Studio is very clean. Shower is hot and functional. Plenty parking near the studio. Therefore, it has been overall convenient for me to go there consistently.

Challenging and Recharging Hot Yoga
I tried this hot yoga class during my intro month and absolutely loved it! Every class was the perfect balance of challenging and refreshing, and I always left feeling stronger, more flexible, and completely recharged. The studio has such a welcoming, positive vibe. Highly recommend!

2. Yoga Passage

Website: yogapassage.ca
Address: 200 – 524 11 Ave SW, AB
Contact: (403) 277.3058 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday, 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM and 4:45 PM – 9:00 PM | Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM | Wednesday, 6:30 AM – 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM – 9:00 PM | Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Sunday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM and 4:15 PM – 6:00 PM
Blasting dry, hot air into a room often leaves you dizzy before class ends. Yoga Passage avoids that by heating its yoga classes with radiant infrared ceiling panels, which mimic sunlight and warm your body directly.
They also run heated and unheated studios, so you can match the room to your mood.
Their schedule features SOMAMVMNT, a house format that blends flowing vinyasa, cardio and gentle release work. A friend of mine tried it and found it great for easing built-up tension after a long week.
If you want to test it first, a $49 three-week trial at their Beltline studio keeps the cost low.
Keep in mind that a refund or account credit triggers an automatic 20% fee.
Parking time limits are also strictly enforced.
Blown Away by Mindful Atmosphere
Took my first class at Yoga Passage today and was genuinely blown away. I’ve practiced hot yoga before, but this was a completely different experience. The energy in the room, the instruction, and the overall atmosphere were exceptional.
I took Eddy’s class, and it struck the perfect balance of challenge, intensity, and mindfulness. The studio feels welcoming, professional, and deeply rooted in the practice of yoga rather than just the workout aspect.
I left feeling stronger, clearer, and already looking forward to my next class. If you’re considering trying Yoga Passage, do it. It exceeded every expectation.

A Supportive Sanctuary and Community
I completed my 200hr YTT back in 2019 here and I have to say I haven’t met any other yoga studio quite like Passage. It truly is a sanctuary hidden within the concrete jungles. The studio is not just about yoga but about creating a community which supports your journey, meeting you wherever you are in life. Classes are diverse, and taught by those who are well experienced and passionate. Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed

3. Yoga Santosha Kensington

Website: yogasantosha.ca
Address: 821 14th St NW, AB
Contact: 403.270.0219 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM – 9:45 PM | Friday, 6:00 AM – 7:45 PM | Saturday, 9:30 AM – 7:45 PM | Sunday, 9:30 AM – 9:45 PM
Being tied to one studio gets awkward when your commute keeps changing. A membership at Yoga Santosha Kensington gives you free drop-in access to both their Kensington and Mission spaces.
That opens up over 80 weekly sessions across more than 20 styles without paying for two passes.
Their Great Yoga Wall class uses ropes and gravity to gently open tight joints. Classes stop at 13 spots, so you get close guidance, which makes it a restful option for desk workers who need focused relief.
However, the wall classes require at least six months of experience and an introductory session first.
Children under 12 are also barred from regular classes.
Excellent Hot Room and Clean Facilities
The hot room is excellent, and the studio has a calm, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place to unwind and practice.
The facilities are clean and well maintained, with spacious change rooms and great showers, and the front desk staff are always friendly and helpful. Overall, Yoga Santosha has been a fantastic place to build a regular practice, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, high-quality yoga studio.

Calming Environment and Great Instructors
Beautiful studio! The environment is very calming and large. However, the actual yoga space is quite narrow, so if you are closer to the back it is hard to see the instructor. I LOVED the class and felt amazing afterwards, the instructor was wonderful, but very chatty and I prefer a more calm instructor, but she was still very good. I will return, keep up the great work! Also, the studio was very clean!

4. Yoga and Beyond®

Website: yogaandbeyond.ca/kensington/
Address: #200, 1414 Kensington Road NW, AB
Contact: 587-439-7771 | 403-827-1777 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM – 8:30 PM | Friday, 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Tricky floor routines can scare beginners and strain sore wrists and knees.
Yoga and Beyond® offers a gentler route with dedicated Pilates reformer sessions on spring-resistance machines. These 45-minute workouts build core strength and stability without aggravating your joints.
If you’d rather stay on the mat, the schedule runs from Forrest Yoga to hammock-supported aerial flows. The hammock takes gravity out of the equation, so you can try inversions and deeper stretches more safely.
I like how this variety lets you swap high-sweat conditioning for playful recovery, and the central Kensington location makes classes easy to fit into a busy week.
However, joining the volunteer energy exchange program requires buying a $69 membership first. It also needs a six-month volunteer commitment.
Best Classes and Beautiful Studio
Ning and Mel always give the best classes, thank you so much!
The studio is absolutely beautiful, and I especially love the aerial yoga class. It captures the beauty of all four seasons, which makes the experience even more special

Authentic, Warm, and Uplifting Experience
Happy place to practice yoga and more! I’ve been to an event (which they hold plenty of) and puppy yoga. (Best class I’ve participated in) The owner is rich in her wisdom in a humble & humours way -that like a magnet plus me in for more. These days it’s hard to find an authentic and genuine place to be. This place is exactly that! The studio itself it beautiful and not pretentiously so, it’s warm, inviting & uplifting. I’m excited to try yoga with sound soon & aerial.

5. YogaMcc Marda Loop

Website: yogamcc.com
Address: 2028b 33rd Ave SW, AB
Contact: 403-251-YOGA (9642) | [email protected]
Hours: Monday and Tuesday, 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Wednesday, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Thursday, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Friday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM | Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Managing an old injury in a crowded room is tough when the instructor can’t watch every student.
YogaMcc Marda Loop answers that with customized therapy that gives each student in group classes an individual routine, which makes classes safer for beginners and anyone with limits.
They also teach the Critical Alignment Method, which uses soft props like black straps and felt pads to release deep spinal tension. A neighbour who practically lives at her desk told me these sessions eased her chronic neck pain.
The studio stays unheated, which suits a gentle practice. Mats and equipment are free to borrow, and the drop-in community meditation costs nothing.
However, pausing a monthly auto-pay membership needs a full 30 days’ notice. New members also commit to three months of auto-pay first.
Grounded Mind-Body Experience and Cozy Space
Just moved to Calgary and started Holly Dalgleish Core & Restore Yoga at BOWNESS…I did attend her classes a decade ago as a visitor so I was delighted to see she was at YogaMcc. Holly’s body mind knowledge is grounded in experience and wisdom. Her ability to ‘read the room’ and lead a class makes her classes extra special. The studio in Bowness is cozy/clean well equipped and there is ample free parking. I always feel fantastic after her classes. 🙏🤍
