I know how disappointing a soggy, flavourless batch of fried chicken can be when you’re expecting hot, juicy comfort food.
That’s why I dug into the local scene, from Korean street food to Southern-style buttermilk recipes. I looked for reliably crispy, well-seasoned chicken.
Whether you want a quick solo lunch or a big office catering box, here’s the best fried chicken in Calgary for your next meal.

You rarely find a true Korean social dining setup outside major overseas cities. K Town Fried Chicken brings that classic chimaek pairing of chicken and beer to Calgary.
I recently sat down at one of their tables to try it. Their 12-hour marinated chicken with a cold beer is a fantastic way to spend a Friday night.
Freshness helps too. They hand-pick ingredients from local neighbourhood suppliers, so the flavours pop, and every batch is cooked in trans fat-free canola oil.
However, plant-based friends will struggle to find anything beyond a single tofu bowl, so keep your group in mind.
You’re also locked into an eight-piece or sixteen-piece batch, which makes solo sampling difficult.
Go-To Place for Crispy Korean Chicken
One of our favourite go-to place for Korean Street Food… K-Town Fried Chicken! Their freshly fried chicken are always crispy hot on the outside and tender inside. We love all the sides that comes with every order. It’s a nice place to share fun moments with family and friends while enjoying some delicious food. We ordered our favourites… Spicy Soy Garlic Fried Chicken, Green Onion & Cilantro Fried Chicken, Sweet & Spicy BBQ Chicken and Snowing Chicken.

Great Flavor Variety and Herbaceous Options
Menu has many flavors to choose from; we decided to go with one flavor that’s familiar, Korean BBQ, and tried something new for our second – the green onion & cilantro. You can never go wrong with the sweet sticky Korean BBQ sauce for fried chicken. The green onion & cilantro had a refreshing flavor profile! The base chicken was seasoned well, came with a savory-sweet dipping sauce, with a hearty amount of shredded green onions and cilantro to supply each bite with fresh herbs. Lady at the front was very nice and informed us of parking regulations in the nearby lot!

Fresh, never-frozen chicken makes a big difference to texture and taste. Seoul Fried Chicken Mission refuses to freeze its poultry, and the crew at this Mission District storefront cuts whole birds daily.
They even double-fry fresh Burbank russet potatoes for maximum crunch on their fries. Plus, everything is made from scratch, right down to the thirty-day fermented kimchi from a family recipe.
Solo diners can get a full meal with the individual sets, and flavours include creative picks like cilantro lime chimichurri.
However, their fresh daily stock means they close the moment they sell out.
Swapping the combo drink for a specialty beverage also adds a noticeable surcharge.
Amazing Food and Friendly Service Experience
My first time at Seoul Fried Chicken and it was amazing! The food was delicious and everyone was so nice. Huge shoutout to Ralph for helping me out—he made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

Best Delivered Korean Fried Chicken Ever
I door dashed my order. Generally for anything delivered I expect a slightly lower quality meal but my goodness – this must be the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had. And it was predominantly the flavour – I ordered the most popular meal and the masses are right.
I was a little bit dubious when walking past the Mission location – it doesn’t express “this might be the best Korean fried chicken you’ve ever had” – but I am for sure going to come and visit in person.
And the best part? So much food for the price.

Rushing the cooking ruins a good crust, so bb.q Chicken Stampede relies on a slower, time-honoured Korean hand-battering technique instead.
Their global research centre keeps refining these methods, so your order stays crispy even under fiery Mala hot rubs.
You also get over ten flavour profiles, which makes it easy to satisfy different cravings in one visit. The two-in-one combo boxes let you sample multiple glazes without overspending.
However, that careful low-temperature frying means your food takes much longer to reach the table, which can be stressful on a tight lunch break.
A few classic flavours are also limited to bone-in cuts.
Fantastic Wing Wednesday and Cold Beer
My family and I were visiting Calgary from BC, and we were craving Korean fried chicken and an cold beer, so we decided to stop by. We couldn’t have picked a better day because it was Wing Wednesday! The wings were incredibly delicious and such a great deal. The beer was perfectly cold, and it paired so well with the chicken.
Everything we ordered was fantastic not just the wings, but all of the other dishes too. Even though the restaurant was busy, every staff member was warm, friendly, and attentive, which made the experience even better.

Ambient Spot with Fast Friendly Service
Love this BB.Q chicken location! You can’t walk by without getting hit with the fragrent chicken being fried. The interior is nice and ambient with lots of space for large groups. The staff are very friendly and service is so fast. Our favorites are the cheesling flavour which is similiar to honey butter, but with a hint of cheesiness 🙂 We also asked about the $5 local drafts and although the sign says June.. it seems like they’re doing it through July as well!

A simple comfort meal feels far more special when a chef designs the menu. Cluck N Cleaver Beltline has a Top Chef Canada winner behind theirs, as Chef Nicole Gomes and her sister source ethical, halal-certified poultry from family farms.
They soak every bird in a local dairy brine before frying, and that buttermilk brine really does lock intense flavour all the way to the bone. They also mix their velvety roasted gravies and dipping aiolis from scratch every morning.
That care shows in their catering too. A coworker recently raved to me about their catering platter.
However, the Beltline location has no indoor dine-in seating, so be ready to grab your food and go.
Large corporate catering orders also need full prepayment upfront, which can complicate office expense accounts.
Crispy Delicious Chicken and Generous Portions
Absolutely delicious fried chicken! The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, and cooked perfectly. The burger was huge, packed with flavor, and the coleslaw added a great fresh crunch. Portions were very generous and everything tasted fresh and made to order.
One of the best fried chicken meals I’ve had in Alberta. Friendly service, great quality food, and definitely worth coming back for. Highly recommended!

Awesome Crunch and Well-Seasoned Road Trip Meal
Was looking for the best fried chicken in Calgary during my road trip and this came up. The chicken and gravy were both awesome. Great crunch, and the thigh and drum were moist and seasoned throughout.
The staff were really friendly.
Was not disappointed.

5. Jungle Chicken

Hours: Monday, 6:30 PM – 11:30 PM | Tuesday-Friday, 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM | Saturday, 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM | Sunday, 10:30 AM – 10:00 PM
Heavily textured street food is hard to beat, especially a Korean corn dog in a crunchy potato crust. Jungle Chicken serves just that, with a signature “ugly potato” coating, and their chicken gets a secret spice blend for bold flavour right out of the fryer.
They also specialize in bite-sized dakgangjeong (glazed Korean fried chicken), with every piece smothered in glazes like hot chilli mayo or soy garlic.
If you want more variety, their hearty bulgogi cup-bop rice bowls are a savoury alternative.
However, customizing your order hits a wall when you dine solo, since the glazed options only come in fixed seven-piece batches.
Traditional bone-in fans are also limited to wings and drumsticks.
Highly Recommended Spot for Korean Street Food
If you are craving for korean fried chicken and/or K street food, this is one i can recommend too
came in tuesday and they have tuesday $10 wings, we also ordered dakgangjeong, cream cheese garlic bread (a must have, eat it while its hot) and half mozzarella and half sausage corndog (way better than stampede corndog)
the wings comes in the sauces you prefer, i like the garlic soy, sweet and spicy and the cream curry sauce.

Solid Korean Fried Chicken Option with Good Spice
A solid option for Korean fried Chicken, but I personally, don’t love the batter they use. It reminds me of just pure cornstarch, very tiny oily flakes, rather than really crispy dry larger chunks of batter. The chicken inside was perfectly cooked, and I like their spicy hot sauce. Pricing has gone up significantly since the photos that were posted Of the menu, I think there is better value to be had elsewhere. It was just under $30 for 10pc boneless chicken with sauce.
