This love month, Market Collective will present an event called Broken Hearts, Friends + Lovers where all local entrepreneurs and artists in Calgary will gather to sell and showcase their work.
Market Collective is in partnership with Chinook Blast and Calgary Arts Development to produce the said event, which will run from February 10 to 12 at the Municipal Hall Atrium.
The event is free and open to the public, so all you have to do is show your support for the locals by purchasing their crafts and goods.
What to Expect
Beautifully handcrafted materials and local goods await everyone in Broken Hearts, Friends + Lovers.
But what makes this one different from other markets? Well, it’s a love month event incorporated into what Market Collective is.
The event’s name suggests that they have a specific target audience in mind. So, if you go to their place, you can expect to be welcomed in an inclusive atmosphere full of lovers, broken hearts, friends, families – and possibly some exes.
Market Collective contracted with over 60 vendors to offer some of the most unique, locally made goods for that special (or not so special) someone.
Aside from the products, visitors can also expect amazing tunes spun by local DJs while strolling the whole market.
They can make a request for their song choice to serenade someone in particular, or simply to hear the theme song of their broken hearts.
There will also be various art installations, a “broken / heart” photo booth, and a make-up/break-up lounge for every type of lover.
Although the event is mainly for lovers/ex-lovers (which is not ordinary at all), don’t forget that it’s also a great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a group of friends.
After all, the event remains true to the nature of every Market Collective in that it offers something for everyone.
