This coming September 7 to 11, you can witness top riders and horses in fierce competition on the International Ring of Spruce Meadows. Spruce Meadows, owned by the Southern Family, is one of the leading venues for international horse sports in Calgary.
They organize and host show jumping tournaments for junior, amateur, and professional athletes. In this week-long affair, you’ll witness iconic events such as CP International, BMO Nations’ Cup, Name the Foal, ATCO Electric Six Bar, and WestJet Evening of the Horse.
To add to that, there will be live music, fireworks, and over 70 shops found in the Equi-Plex, Founders Plaza, Horizons Pavilion, and International Plaza. You can enjoy the different shops where you can purchase art and other goods from local business owners.
Here’s a map so you know where all the stores and tournament rings are located. It’s definitely a very busy week filled with engaging activities and fun for the whole family.
You need a ticket to access Spruce Meadows during event days. You can book your tickets online, with a choice of General Admission tickets and Reserved Seating tickets.
General Admission tickets can give you access to unassigned seating on all the rings. Reserved Seating tickets, on the other hand, give you access to assigned seating on the International Ring and general admission seating on the other rings available.
Book your tickets here. To see the full tentative tournament schedule, check it out here.
Pro-tips: On September 8, Thursday, seniors aged 65 and up can enjoy free admission because it’s Seniors Day.
If you can’t watch the tournaments live, you can also watch them on live stream and video-on-demand. You can stream all the action live on your computer, mobile device, and television.
The price for live stream access is 19.75 CAD per tournament week. You have to shell out 99.75 CAD if you want all the tournaments during the 2022 season.
