Eating a well-rounded diet can be a factor in keeping your hair and scalp healthy and happy. Since hair is made of protein, make sure to incorporate that in your daily diet.

Some healthy sources include poultry, fish, beans, dairy products, eggs, and meat. So make sure you have some of these on your grocery lists.

It’s a good thing Calgary has options for you to have groceries and produce delivered. You can also check your local  health food store for these options.

Some good cuisines you can also experiment with that are rich in nutrients and protein are  Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean food. So you can get started with those cuisines.

If you need guidance with your diet, you can consult with a good nutritionist to make sure that your meal plan is geared toward health and fitness, and in turn healthy hair.

2. Know your hair type.

Experts are split on how often you should shampoo your hair. At the end of the day, it will depend on how you prefer it and what your hair type needs.

You have to be familiar with your hair type and texture, your activity level, and so on. If you have oily hair, you might need to shampoo it daily.

If you have dry hair, you may shampoo it every other day or less frequently. If you need help, you can consult your local hair salon

Ensure that you’re using the best shampoo and conditioner for your hair type, whether it’s oily, normal, or dry. You can also find products that target conditions like dandruff.

Make sure your shampoo doesn’t have a lot of harsh ingredients. A mild shampoo works best.

Conditioning after shampooing can help keep your hair soft and more manageable. There are options where you can buy a separate conditioner or find a shampoo with built-in conditioner.

Evenly distribute it throughout your hair and leave the conditioner on for around two or three minutes before fully rinsing.

4. As much as you can, dry your hair naturally.

Excessive styling can damage your hair. So try to limit using a blower or styling iron.

Air drying your hair is the best option. Another note is to avoid sleeping with wet hair or harshly rubbing your hair with a towel.

A good rule of thumb is to be gentle with your hair.
