If you have a penchant for superheroes and classical music, this one-of-a-kind concert is for you. This January 13 and 14, watch as the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Morris Russell, play music from different movie franchises.
You’ll hear music from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Mandalorian, Star Trek, Indiana Jones, The Avengers, and Batman. The show will take place at Jack Singer Concert Hall.
For January 13 and 14, the show begins at 7:30 PM. There will be a 20-minute intermission.
The Calgary Philharmonic has been around for almost 67 years. Throughout those years, they have become one of the country’s most celebrated live music ensembles.
They play classics, pop favorites, collaborations, and even original music. They attract the attention of numerous guest artists and conductors.
Every season, the orchestra’s audience reaches 100,000 visitors at the concert hall. They also have audiences through their digital programming and live-streaming that started in 2017.
On the other hand, John Morris Russell is a brilliant Grammy-nominated American conductor with extensive years of experience. He is best known for his ties with the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

If it’s your first time at the Jack Singer Concert Hall, you’ll be pleasantly surprised because of its acoustics. The acoustics can be adjusted through the wooden acoustical canopy that hangs from over the stage.
The venue was custom-built for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. It has hosted artists like Emmylou Harris, Jason Mraz, Jim Cuddy, Bruce Cockburn, and many more.
The place is also wheelchair-accessible and has ample parking space.
