Tamara, Bake My Day’s head baker, impressed me with her genuine passion and artistry. You can feel her heart in every detail, from the carefully chosen ingredients to the unique flavor combinations she creates.
Couples I’ve spoken to rave about the unexpected flavor profiles and the overall freshness of ingredients.
Her portfolio showcases a stunning range of styles, from elegant and modern to rustic and romantic. This showcases her ability to personalize each cake for a couple’s vision.
Plus, the level of detail in her designs is remarkable. I saw cakes adorned with fresh flowers, intricate sugar work, and edible lace.
One even featured a miniature replica of the couple’s favorite local landmark—a testament to Tamara’s ability to turn personal details into edible art.
The only drawback I’ve heard from a few couples is that communication could have been slightly better in the lead-up to their big day.

The Cake Trail’s online gallery is pure eye candy. I love how they aren’t afraid to push the boundaries of what a wedding cake can be.
Their designs are impressive. They include intricate floral details and cascading tiers with textured finishes. Elements like watercolor effects and edible gold add a unique touch to their creations.
As for the flavors, “delicious” doesn’t even begin to cover it. One couple loved the moistness of their lavender honey cake. Another couldn’t stop praising the rich flavor of their chocolate cake with a decadent salted caramel filling.
I also love that you can customize flavors to complement your wedding theme and preferences perfectly.
Now, the one caveat: The Cake Trail isn’t the cheapest option in town. A few couples mentioned that the price was higher than some competitors.

Sweetnd Custom Cakes impressed me with its variety of flavors. Their offerings range from classic Snickerdoodle and caramel apple to the unique “Dark & Stormy” cake.
The staff was incredibly helpful. They guided me through different flavor and frosting options without pressure.
In fact, I sampled several buttercream frostings. It included the salted caramel, which was absolutely divine.
Aside from that, their online gallery is captivating. The intricate floral work on one cake was breathtaking, with delicate sugar flowers that were almost too beautiful to eat.
The only drawback is their inconsistent phone response times. A few couples told me this made the planning process more challenging.
Creates incredible cake designs
“The most incredible cake I have ever seen!!! Just like what you’d see on one of those food network cake competitions, and for good reason – Amanda was on The Big Bake Halloween Episode! Amanda is enormously talented and if you’re in the market for a unique and personalized cake for your wedding or special event, look no further. We first decided on a layered wedding cake which we did a tasting for. Talk about the best research ever! We had a dozen cupcakes with different combinations of cake and buttercream. It was a tough decision, but we went with her amazing brown sugar apple cake with cream cheese buttercream. WOW, So many complements! While researching creative wedding photo ideas, I saw that some couples had a small second cake made to share and to include in photos before the wedding (during first look). I loved this idea and after speaking with Amanda, she created the most insane cake I’ve ever seen! It was a suitcase with photos of our travels and places we’ve been together with stamps and a map. It was so personalized and we were left speechless when we fist saw it. Amazing creativity! I can’t recommend Sweetnd enough! Thank you Amanda!”

Helpful and efficient to deliver the cake
“Sweetnd Custom Cakes made our wedding cake. Since my Husband and I met through ice climbing, we were looking for someone that could help us incorporate that theme into our cake. What Sweetnd Custom Cakes had to offer fit in perfectly with our plans. Amanda also helped us chose a flavor and filling for the cake that would compliment each other. The moist fresh cake and the smoothness of the butter cream tasted really well together and we had a lot of compliments not only on the presentation of the cake but the flavor and texture as well. I still crave that cake to this day! Amanda also helped us with the logistics of delivering the cake to our venue and setting it up which was awesome as it is one less thing to think about on the day of the wedding. I would definitely ask Sweetnd Custom Cakes in the future to create a custom cake again (and I likely well be).”

Butter Love Sugar impressed me right from the start with their personalized approach. They truly listen to your vision. They ask detailed questions about your wedding theme, preferences, and even favorite flavors.
The design process is collaborative and stress-free. I love how Monique, the owner, offers helpful suggestions without imposing her own style. She patiently explained the differences in techniques and flavors.
The few cake samples I tried were amazing. The delicate lemon sponge cake with raspberry filling was smooth and tasty.
The aesthetics of her cakes are equally impressive. Her three-tiered designs are true statement pieces—they’re stunning!
However, some couples complained about issues with the delivery. The cake arrived intact but was slightly later than scheduled. This caused a minor delay in the dessert portion of their reception.

I was also impressed by the diverse selection of flavors and fillings. From classic options like coconut and funfetti to unique ones like cookies and cream, Vicky’s Sweets has something for everyone.
Their buttercream flavors are exceptional. The piña colada and peanut butter varieties are especially popular and absolutely delicious.
One minor drawback is their lead time. They require at least a few weeks’ notice for bookings, which could be a challenge for couples with tight schedules.
