Annual checkups are helpful, but they don’t always answer the questions keeping you awake at 2 AM. Finding the best health screening in Calgary can offer a clearer look before anything serious starts waving a red flag.
From bloodwork at home to full-body imaging, Calgary has options for people who like facts more than vague reassurance. The tricky part is figuring out what’s useful, what’s extra, and what your health insurance might quietly refuse to cover.
Catching risks early can help you adjust your habits before symptoms show up. We’ve rounded up the top local options so you can compare services, costs, and peace-of-mind potential.
How much does a health screening cost in Calgary?
Private health screening in Calgary generally costs $300 to over $6,000. The final price depends on the tests, imaging, and level of ongoing care included.
At-home blood testing starts at around $85. Targeted CT screening typically costs $1,725 to $1,925.
A comprehensive standalone assessment ranges from $1,800 to $3,550. Whole-body imaging costs about $3,600.
Annual concierge medicine memberships usually run from $4,500 to $6,200. These private options offer more personalized testing outside Alberta’s public system.
1. Direct Health Solutions

Address: 1816 Crowchild Trail NW #700
Contact: [email protected] | Phone 403-973-3188 | Fax 403-770-8757
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
Direct Health Solutions is a solid pick when you’ve got more than one health concern and don’t fancy being rushed out the door. Its Nurse Practitioner-led physicals take a broader look at your history, risks, lifestyle, and overall well-being.
The mobile setup is the real crowd-pleaser. House calls, blood collection, virtual visits, and some workplace services mean you can dodge the waiting room altogether.
There’s also access to DNA, genetic, and microbiome testing for anyone keen to dig deeper.
These options won’t suit everyone, though, so it’s worth discussing what’s genuinely useful with a qualified provider.
The catch is the schedule. Regular hours are limited to weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, which isn’t exactly friendly to the standard Calgary workday.

Thorough In-Home Medical Review
Carrie Hope came to our home for her first visit well prepared. She had looked up Sheila’s medical history in detail. She began her visit with a verbal review of Sheila’s situation and her health background. She reviewed Sheila’s current medication and updated it, as it had originally been prescribed after Sheila’s heart attack three years ago. She also prescribed a special cream to aid in Sheila’s pain relief. She was professional, pleasant, and all in all excellent.

Comprehensive Home-Based Medical Care
My experience with Direct Health Solutions has been nothing short of amazing. It’s the equivalent of having a medical clinic and laboratory services in the comfort of your own home. No wait times, no exposure to other sick patients, and if you have mobility issues, this could be a suitable option. Everyone on their team, from Judy to Jessica to Danielle, has been absolutely wonderful. They’re knowledgeable, efficient, thorough and can tackle multiple health issues without making you feel rushed. I trust them completely with all my medical needs and will continue seeking their services.

2. Scrubs Health

Address: 2204 2 St SW M100
Contact: +18558333339 | [email protected] | WhatsApp
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Scrubs Health is a handy option when you’d rather have bloodwork come to you than spend your morning in a laboratory queue.
Its at-home screening panel checks more than 25 biomarkers tied to heart, metabolic, hormonal, liver, kidney, and general health.
A licensed mobile lab professional visits your home or workplace to collect the samples. Afterwards, a clinician walks you through the results, so you’re not left squinting at numbers and consulting Dr. Google.
You can book the baseline panel without seeing a physician first. Do note that standard doctor-ordered bloodwork and ECGs still require a valid requisition.
The downside is that mobile collection and self-ordered screening come with private fees. Some costs may be eligible under a Health Spending Account or benefits plan, but I’d check coverage before your wallet gets a surprise diagnosis.

Excellent At-Home Lab Experience
I am so glad I found Scrubs! I am currently dealing with several complex health issues that limit my physical mobility immensely. The entire process, from booking an appointment (which Nicole went above and beyond in communications, finding an availability for me, etc.) to the actual lab work, was excellent. Nicole was right on schedule, very professional, and also kind and friendly. For my particular test, I even received my result the same night. I would absolutely recommend Scrubs to anyone who is looking into at-home lab services for whatever reason they might have.

Skilled and Comfortable Blood Draw
I had a blood test done through them, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Michelle, the technician, arrived on time and drew blood on the first prick. I have difficult veins, and almost always, nurses/ technicians prick me 4-6 times before they can identify veins. But Michelle got it in the first try. She was kind, polite, helpful and explained everything properly. If I ever need such tests done again, I will choose Scrubs Health.

3. Invest-Med Preventative Testing

Address: 3110 17 Ave SW Suite 201
Contact: (778) 760-8281
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8.30 AM – 4.30 PM
Invest-Med is for people who’d rather investigate a health worry than let it camp out rent-free in their head. Its physicians build private screening plans around your history, age, family risks, and budget.
The menu is impressively thorough, with full-body MRI, virtual colonography, heart imaging, genetic testing, bloodwork, and physical assessments. You can start directly with an Invest-Med consultation instead of chasing down an outside referral first.
A physician reviews the results and explains what may need follow-up. Timing depends on the tests included, so this isn’t exactly a quick lunchtime errand.
The biggest drawback is the cost, as customized packages can run into several thousand dollars.
Whole-body MRI also isn’t recommended for every healthy adult, so it’s worth weighing the benefits, false alarms, and possible follow-up bills before booking.

Reassuring Cancer and Heart Screening
My husband and I did full cancer and heart screening at InvestMed, and the peace of mind the results brought us is worth every penny. Now that we are in our 50s, we want to remain healthy and give ourselves the best chance at a long life. Knowing exactly what our health status is gives us a starting point and great motivation to take care of ourselves. We highly recommend this service and will continue to follow up in the future with InvestMed to stay on top of our health.

4. Compass Health Services

Address: 4704 Bowness Rd, NW
Contact: Phone 587-430-2477 | Fax 1-866-961-6319 | [email protected]
Hours: By appointment
Compass Health Services suits anyone who’d rather unpack several health concerns than race through a seven-minute appointment.
Its Canadian-trained Nurse Practitioners bring graduate-level education and experience across women’s health, diabetes, cardiology, geriatrics, and mental health.
The comprehensive assessment digs into your medical history, family risks, lifestyle, current worries, and health goals. You can book 15-, 30-, or 60-minute visits, with evening and weekend options for Calgarians whose schedules refuse to behave.
Testing may include physical exams, bloodwork, preventive screening, risk reviews, and referrals. The clinic chooses investigations based on your needs rather than handing everyone the same one-size-fits-all checklist.
The catch is the price, with adult memberships currently listed at $3,950 per year. Anyone craving a guaranteed bundle of scans may prefer a clinic with preset screening packages.

Extensive Testing and Ongoing Support
My son was getting very frustrated with his GP, whom he had had since he was born. As his mother, I was willing to do whatever I could to ensure he was getting the help he needed. I started looking at alternatives and found Compass Health. He made his first call a year ago, and his relationship with the clinic began. Dr. Parker listened, did extensive testing, and went above and beyond. All I can say as a mother is thank goodness that this place exists. My son still has his battles, but knowing he has Compass reassures us.

Personalized and Attentive Medical Care
Easily the best medical care I have received in a very, very long time, maybe my entire life. Karen is a true professional who wants to understand the problems I have been experiencing, but she also has taken extra time to get to know me and my history. It has been a great experience so far, and very pleased with the initial few visits, and I am actually hopeful I will find the answers I need for my health. We are already off to a great start.

5. Acadia Medical Clinic & Walk-in Practice

Address: #202-580 Acadia Dr
Contact: [email protected] | Phone (587) 318-7156 | (403) 258-1184
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM | Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM
Acadia Medical Clinic is a practical pick for Calgary families who’d rather keep everyone’s routine care under one roof. Services cover baby checks, child and teen exams, annual physicals, women’s and men’s health, and chronic-condition support.
Annual visits may include general health monitoring and age- or risk-appropriate cancer screening.
Walk-ins are welcome too, though booked patients get first dibs and same-day space can disappear quickly.
Patients can request a female doctor for pelvic or Pap exams. The clinic also arranges physician visits for seniors living in certain designated care facilities.
The downside is that this is a family practice, not a high-end screening centre packed with advanced scans and preset panels. New-patient availability needs a phone check, while senior visits aren’t advertised for private homes.

Thorough and Caring Calgary Clinic
An amazing gem of a medical clinic – rare to find in Calgary. Staff are attentive, caring and dedicated to providing the best possible service. Dr. Tekesai Manyande is knowledgeable, understanding, thorough, with an exceptional patient/doctor rapport. I’m truly lucky to find such great medical expertise – many thanks.

Reliable Appointments and Prompt Follow-Up
I’ve been going to this clinic for a few years now and have been quite happy with it, especially because finding a family doctor that’s taking on new patients in Calgary is difficult enough. Whenever I’ve had an appointment booked, I get in right at the scheduled time. They’ve always been quick to call me to set up an appointment when test results come in. I also like the fact that the doctor is ok with you asking questions about other things besides what you’re booked in for. Overall, very happy with my doctor and this clinic
