The idea of a couple’s spa day sounds utterly blissful—a haven of relaxation, shared pampering, and a chance to reconnect.
However, in my friend’s experience, it was a disaster. The “relaxing” music sounded like noise. The massage therapist gave them more pain in their knotted muscles than relief.
When I was planning my own couple’s spa day with my partner, I knew I didn’t want to experience the same disaster. That’s why I recruited the rest of The Best Calgary team to research the top couple’s spas that actually provide rejuvenating experiences.
So, here are the places that made it onto our list.

1. Riverside Spa

The first thing that hit us about Riverside Spa was how relaxing the entire place felt. The atmosphere is relaxing—calming music, gorgeous decor, and eucalyptus steam rooms that are perfect for instant de-stressing.
Couples raved about their Riverside Couples’ Retreat. We love how it offers a bit of everything: massages, pedicures, and even facials.
But what we really love is how they use all organic products. This is a big plus for anyone with sensitive skin.
We also appreciate how spacious the treatment rooms are. Plus, the staff does a fantastic job of keeping you at ease during your massage.
Aside from that, they use high-quality masks and serums for facials. It leaves skin feeling refreshed and radiant.
But the pedicures were somewhat standard. While they were relaxing, they didn’t offer anything particularly unique or special compared to other spas.

2. Stillwater Spa

What immediately struck us about Stillwater Spa was the unique intimacy of its couples’ suites. We love that they have two massage beds side by side and a private steam room.
However, the lighting in the couples’ suite was a bit too dim for our preference. This made it slightly difficult to see at times.
Regardless of this, the staff were friendly and professional. They were always attentive without being intrusive. Many couples even complimented the therapists’ skills in tailoring their massages to their specific needs.
Their spa manicure is a definite win, too. We enjoyed our divine herbal hand soak.
We also like their moisture-drenched body treatment that leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.
Others mentioned that the Kaolin body masque is also soothing. It provides excellent exfoliation, leaving the skin feeling refreshed and smooth.
Another thing that stood out to us was the shared relaxation area. We appreciate that they have free snacks and drinks. This provides couples a space to unwind together before and after their treatments.

I’ve been to several spas in Calgary but nowhere is as top notch as Stillwater – I always leave here feeling relaxed and pampered. You can also use their hot tub and steam room prior to your treatment, as well as enjoy some tasty refreshments. Their spa cuisine (prepared by Thomsons) is also prepared very well. Amazing side-by-side massage
“We had a side by side massage and it was amazing. The change rooms have a whirlpool and sauna and some fantastic showers with multiple shower heads. The lounge had snacks and treats, water, coffee, and tea, which were much needed after our fantastic massage. Being able to take our time and relax in the whirlpools and saunas after the massage was amazing.”

We loved Leela Eco Spa because they use 100% organic products—sustainable and gentle to the planet.
The spa itself has a peaceful atmosphere. We especially loved the soft lighting and the way they used natural wood throughout the space. It felt classy and luxurious.
Although their treatments are a bit pricey compared to others, people still raved about the couples’ massage being worth it.
We appreciated how their therapists took their time to knead through every knotted muscle. This approach helps create a safe and calming space. Many people even fall asleep because they are completely relaxed.
Plus, the massage oils were amazing—rich and smelled incredible, definitely not watered down.
The only downside is the dullness of the waiting area. We think they could offer light refreshments to make it more welcoming.

Oasis Wellness Centre & Spa gives you that Egyptian luxe spa experience.
We loved their low lighting, the subtle scent of essential oils, and the calming music. They all come together to create a peaceful haven. This intimate atmosphere, more than anything else, made Oasis stand out to us.
The Bernard Callebaut chocolates offered as a welcome treat are delicious—we couldn’t resist having a few.
We appreciate that the staff is consistently friendly and professional, no matter which treatment you choose—from amazing facials to rejuvenating body wraps.
Their couples’ pedicure is top-notch, too. People have told us it left their feet feeling soft and smooth.
Aside from that, we like how their synergy package has everything a couple needs to feel pampered. It features a body scrub, foot treatment, and more.
The one thing we weren’t fond of was the steam and sauna room. We found the temperature to be uncomfortable.

What impressed us most about RNR Wellness was the fantastic blend of luxury and intimacy. It offers a quaint and boutique atmosphere.
We loved how the massage therapists are incredibly skilled in adapting their techniques to your individual needs. Many left feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated.
We appreciate that they offer a variety of treatments, from the classic couples’ massage to the hot stone or body quench options. In particular, the body quench is a popular choice, with many praising its deeply moisturizing effects.
However, they currently have fewer non-massage treatments available. We wish there were more treatment options for couples seeking a shared spa experience.
On a positive note, the seasonal penthouse patio with stunning skyline views and a drink bar was a luxurious touch. We spent an hour sipping champagne and enjoying the city vista.
