5 Best Shooting Ranges in Calgary

Shoot Your Shot: 5 Best Shooting Ranges in Calgary

Shooting is a niche hobby, especially in Canada where gun shows are held yearly across almost all states. Calgary, in particular, conducts Wild Wild West-like shoot-out shows during the Calgary Stampede, one of the world’s largest rodeos.

Safe to say, cowboy culture in Calgary is pretty much alive, and many locals, both PAL (possession and acquisition licence) and non-PAL holders head over to shooting ranges to practise their aim or let off some steam in a safe and controlled environment.

If you want to join the bandwagon and pick up shooting as a sport or new date idea, we narrowed down the best shooting ranges in Calgary where you can shoot your shot!

How much does a membership cost at a shooting range in Calgary?

Annual memberships at a shooting range will set you back between $250 and $1,200, while day passes roughly cost $20 to $60 per person.

Factors that affect price variations include membership privileges, additional guest passes, and ammunition.

How We Chose

Reasonability of Rates: We chose ranges that offer reasonable rates for both memberships and walk-in guests. We considered the overall cost of renting firearms and ammo prices in the ranges’ in-house store.
Membership Inclusions: We chose ranges that offer great membership inclusions like free parking, discounts on firearm retail and merchandise, free safety gear, and storage. We also considered membership variety, like ranges that offer memberships for disabled persons and families.
Accreditations: We chose ranges that are affiliated with or accredited by esteemed firearm associations like the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Alberta Provincial Rifle Association.
Equipment and Range Facilities: We chose ranges with fully equipped and updated shooting lanes, complete with the latest shooting technology like target retrieval and bullet traps, to name a few.

Really enjoyed shooting for the first time here, had an absolute blast!

Thank you so much to the team!”

Helpful and supportive instructors

“Definiely the best shooting experiences I’ve had so far. Both instructors I had were knowledgeable and great teachers. They know their stuff about their firearms and are helpful and supportive on the range. The first time my friend had a repeated malfunction (shooter induced) and our officer cleared it effortlessly and showed him how to properly operate it afterwards. Will 100% be back in the future.”
