A few months ago, I rushed to an urgent care clinic after I cut my hand pretty badly while cooking. As I walked into the clinic, I was hoping for swift care and expert medical attention.
Instead, I was greeted with a lengthy wait time, understaffed reception, and a doctor who seemed more interested in their next break than in treating my wound.
Since then, I became determined to find urgent care clinics that wouldn’t leave me wishing I had DIY stitched my hand instead. I knew I couldn’t do this alone, so I enlisted the help of The Best Calgary team.
We visited numerous clinics, spoke to doctors and healthcare professionals, and gathered patient feedback to compile a list of the best urgent care clinics in Calgary. Here’s who made it to our list.
How much does it cost to go to an urgent care clinic in Calgary? Going to an urgent care clinic in Calgary costs at least $40. The actual price, though, will vary depending on your insurance, the medicines you need, and more. |

Doctors are funny and attempt to put their patients at ease
“My husband and I have been going to this clinic for years and I personally have seen both doctors. They are both very good and we get excellent care here. Both doctors are funny and attempt to put their patients at ease. They also listen and address all issues and refer to specialists when needed. Very pleased. The reception staff is good too. We’ve never had to wait long. We are patients of these doctors though and not walk-ins. Walk-in clinics are unpredictable in terms of wait times.”

Both are amazing doctors, both are so intelligent and very kind
“I don’t write many reviews but this clinic and their staff and doctors deserve one. For reference I have been coming here for about 4-6yrs now. I have seen both Dr. Perisola and Dr. Adesina. Both are amazing doctors, both are so intelligent and very kind. I love that both of them speak with you, get to know you and hold an actual conversation with you and try to better understand all your health concerns rather than rushing you out the door like most other doctors do. They actually care about their patients which I find extremely rare now a days. There can be quite a wait to see either of the doctors and often times I can’t get an appointment for at least 2 weeks but I understand just how beloved and how helpful these two are, it’s no wonder everyone wants to be seen by them. Also the nursing desk here are so sweet and kind as well. They’re polite, helpful and always willing to go above and beyond for everyone. I also like that this clinic is connected to the pharmacy next door, very easy to get everything done in one go. The pharmacists next door are also great to deal with.”

Had an amazing experience coming here
“Had an amazing experience coming here. Staff are incredibly nice and work hard and fast. I’ve never seen so many nurses with smiles on their faces when talking with patients. I was constantly updated on what was going on and felt that the doctor listened to everything I had to say and took it very seriously. For anything non emergent, I recommend coming to this location. Very sweet people all around! :)”

Very informative and took great care of me overall
“Visited their urgent care. The wait time wasn’t too bad – about 2 hours from walking into the door to being seen by a nurse. I’d say it’ was ok considering my non-life threatening illness. Just be mindful that if you have regular flu or other light symptoms you’ll have better luck at a regular walk-in clinic.
Once inside, the nurses and the doctor were great! Very informative and took great care of me overall THANK YOU!”

Most respect and dedication from the doctors
“I have been to this urgent care unit a few times either for one of my kids or for myself, and I’ve never seen less that the out most respect and dedication from the doctors, nurses and other staff. It is a bit of a wait usually because of the high number of patients, but less than what you would have in a hospital.”

The staff are friendly and helpful
“Only allowed to take a picture outside. I go here to see my Doctor. It’s a family medicine teaching clinic run by University of Calgary. There are also Dieticians here and Social workers. Also if you need to get blood work done the lab is on the 3rd floor. The Doctors are on the eighth floor. Not sure if they’re taking new patients. Good to phone and check. There is an emergency area on the main floor too. Also at the other end on the main floor is Good Earth Cafe and a Pharmacy. The staff are friendly and helpful.”

Doctors and staff are fabulous
“Me and my wife had an appointment today at the dental clinic on 6th floor. We both had an exceptional (I say that again) exceptional experience! The lady doctors and staff are fabulous, treated us with compassion, kindness and delightful love – especially Lynn and middle eastern sounding doctor (sorry I didn’t get her name because of how panicked I was).
Thank you so much everyone. I wish you all the best of everything.”
