I don’t know about you, but sometimes the last thing I want to do after a long day is cook.
But takeouts don’t always turn out well. Instead of good food, you only end up with soggy fries, spilled sauces, and lukewarm food.
I once had a takeout experience so disastrous that my entire car smelt like curry for a week. But that experience, as frustrating as it was, led me to seek out the best spots in Calgary for a stress-free and delicious takeaway.
After much work, here’s who made it to my list of the top takeout spots in Calgary.
How much does takeout cost in Calgary?
Takeout costs at least 10 CAD in Calgary for a basic meal. This price is just an estimate. The actual cost will depend on the restaurant, what you order, and more.
Table of Contents
1. Pigot’s Burger Club

Address: 345 10 Ave SW
Pigot’s Burger Club delivers a fantastic experience right from the start. I found their ordering system super easy and user-friendly. You pick your location, make your choices, and you’re good to go.
Their food is absolutely five-star worthy. I went for their bacon cheeseburger this time and decided to double up on the patties. It was juicy and flavorful with crispy bacon and tangy secret sauce.
Besides that, I tried the butter-toasted potato roll—it did not disappoint. It adds just the right touch of sweetness.
The real star for me, though, has to be their dirty tots. They’re loaded with creamy cheese sauce, brown sugar onions, and jalapeños. They hit all the right spots— satisfying and, honestly, addictive.
The one thing that didn’t quite hit the mark was the packaging. While the food was fresh and hot, the containers weren’t spill-proof. A bit of sauce leakage here and there was mildly annoying.
Great tasting buttery-bun burger
“Great tasting buttery-bun burger! Ordered using Uber eats and it’s worth every penny. I should’ve ordered three patties for extreme deliciousness!!”

Offers top-notch burger
“Had it delivered and it is a top notch burger; definitely in my top 3 in the city. I had the bacon cheeseburger and I gotta tell you, the secret sauce and the caramelized brown sugar onions really do it for me. Add the tater tots or fries and you’ve got yourself a super solid meal.”

2. Pure Street Food

Address: 1327 1 St SW #6
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Thursday, Sunday – 11 AM to 8 PM
- Friday & Saturday – 11 AM to 9 PM
Pure Street Food has definitely become one of my go-to spots for authentic Vietnamese street food flavors. I’ve been trying my way through their menu, and everything has been seriously good.
I loved their Hu Tieu Mi Kho Noodle Bowl. I like how they use two different noodles (dry egg and rice noodles), tender char siu pork, and add a touch of spice with sate oil. But the crispy pork spring rolls are the right finishing touch.
I also enjoyed their sesame donuts. They’re sweet, spicy, and absolutely worth the calories. These are also hand-rolled and fried to order.
But I was more pleased with their super friendly and efficient service. Whenever I go in to order, they always get it right. So far, I haven’t had a bad experience.
However, if you visit around lunchtime, be prepared for a long line. It took me about 20 minutes to get my takeout.
Offers a variety of dishes packed with flavor
“Pleasantly surprised by the food here! We tried a bunch of dishes and each one was packed with flavour and there was a good balance between salty and spicy. I particularly liked the savoury sesame donut. If I’m in the area, I would definitely come again to try the other dishes.”

Good food and accommodating service
“Amazing amazing. Saw a Guy Fieri YouTube video about this place and yea, it lives up to his high praises. Had the sate pho and the pork belly saseme donut. The broth was so aromatic and they do not cheap out on ingredients. Yes it is priced higher than other places but IMO it’s worth it with the quality of food. You can tell the amount of effort they put into it. Service is great, wife is celiac and they were knowledgeable about it and able to accommodate. It’s inside a modern food hall and has a great buzz to it. Looking forward to try the other vendors but that could be hard because I would definitely revisit Pure street food again. Highly highly recommend!”

3. To Me Vietnamese Sub

Address: 5250 Macleod Trail SW
Contact Details: +1 825-882-2828
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 11 AM to 9 PM
To Me Vietnamese Sub is one of those places I keep returning to. The food is always fresh and packed with flavor. Even the portions are generous.
The beef sate sub and the coconut curry sub are my absolute favorites. Both are under $10, which feels like a total win for how much you get.
The beef sate is well-balanced—savory and sweet. It also has a tender beef and a buttery richness that stands out.
The coconut curry sub, on the other hand, is light and refreshing. It’s full of flavor with chicken, veggies, and a hint of cilantro.
I also enjoyed their bubble tea lineup with classics like taro, mango, and strawberry. While I enjoyed the variety, the tapioca pearls were a little firmer than I’d like. The hard pearls in my mango boba lessened my enjoyment of the drink.
Regardless, I love how the drive-thru makes grabbing a bite too easy. It’s a great bonus, especially since their menu is consistently solid.
A fantastic drive-thru spot
“A fantastic drive-thru spot just off Macleod! We ordered the beef and chicken satay subs, and they were absolutely delicious. The Vietnamese iced coffee was also great as it was not too sweet. For the price and quality, I’m not sure there’s a better Vietnamese sub place around.”

Affordable and delicious food
“I have driven by this Bánh mìi shop many times. I had some free time today so I made the decision to stop in with the family. The food here was very affordable. A bánh mì was 9 dollars. Its something you can’t find here in Calgary anymore. The bun of the bánh mì was not super hard and crunchy which I really enjoyed. I ordered the beef and it was delightful. It was packed with a good amount of spice and flavour. I will definitely be back as this was definitely a top for me! Additionally, I ordered the salad rolll; which was like every other sald roll I’ve had before. Not much to rave about. However, definitely check out the sub when you do drive by. It’s worth it!”

4. Sukiyaki House

Address: 207 9 Ave SW #130
Contact Details: +1 403-263-3003
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 11 AM to 2 PM & 5 PM to 10 PM
Sukiyaki House is definitely worth trying if you’re in the mood for some tasty Japanese takeout.
One feature I actually like is their online ordering system. You’ll need to create a Lightspeed account to place an order, but the process is quick and hassle-free. It’s not one of those overly complicated sign-up experiences.
I opted for the chicken katsu roll, and it was a standout. The juicy chicken tenderloin paired with the creamy peach mayo and the crunch of avocado was definitely a win in my book.
I also tried their beef bento box, which didn’t disappoint. The beef was perfectly tender and packed with flavor. What stood out was how fresh and thoughtfully prepared everything felt.
However, the pricing leans toward the higher side. It might not be the best option if you’re on a tight budget.
Worth it for the quality and taste
“The quality of the raw fish is quite great for the price being in Calgary. It is a higher price point than your average sushi, but it’s worth it for the quality and taste. The dessert trio was a great way to try their different selections and we enjoyed it a lot.
Will definitely come back again

Fresh and top-quality food
“Very nice japanese restaurant, delightful cuisine, it’s a bit pricey, but the dishes are so yummy, fresh made and top quality. I really recommend it if you want something authentic and delicious.
They have also a quite great choices of vines.”

5. Actually Pretty Good – Bankview

Address: 2509 14 St SW, Calgary, AB T2T 3T8, Canada
Contact Details: +1 403-475-9384
Operating Hours:
- Sunday to Thursday – 11:30 AM to 9 PM
- Friday & Saturday – 11:30 AM to 10 PM
Actually Pretty Good is a spot that genuinely lives up to its name. I’ve tried a few of their pies, and let me tell you—I’m hooked. Their pizzas, pasta, and salads are seriously delicious.
Plus, the staff is impressively quick at preparing your order, especially if you’re taking it to go.
The first time I came here, I was impressed with their Full Nelson. It’s a four-cheese masterpiece with bacon and fermented honey garlic. The flavors were amazing, but I have to admit that the presentation didn’t quite hit the mark.
Now, let me rave about my favorite: the Nashville North. The fried chicken is crispy, and the hot sauce brings just the right amount of heat. Plus, the creamy gorgonzola ranch ties it all together.
And then there are the garlic fingers—delicious. It has gooey mozzarella, nutty grana padano, and sweet confit garlic. It’s all topped off with their tangy donair sauce.
One drawback that bummed me out was the price. While the food is excellent, it’s definitely on the higher side. So, be prepared to splurge a bit.
Fresh food and cooked well
We tried Actually Pretty Good Pizza on a recent trip to Calgary. It was recommended by a few people. The service was good, we went into order and the pizza didn’t take long. The prices were somewhat higher especially considering the size of the pizzas are about 12”. We decided on the garlic fingers, the Full Nelson and the Hoser. The toppings all worked very well together, all tasted fresh as did the cheese. The dough was good, nicely cooked but did taste somewhat dry. Overall they were well made pizzas and tasted great. Definitely check out APG Pizza if you are in the area.

Great staff and delicious pizza
“From the staff to the atmosphere and the delicious pizza, you will want to go back again and again. I love it here and like that you can get other savoury bites like salads and shishito peppers, too. They have great wine choices, good beer, and delicious cocktails and dessert to boot. Their crust is uniquely flavoured in the best way and the crunch is out of this world!”
