A few months ago, I decided to jump on the spinning bandwagon. I was all hyped up to get fit and healthy, so I booked a class at a local spin studio.
But from the moment I stepped inside, things started to go south. The bike was ancient and wobbly, the room was hotter than a sauna, and the instructor? Let’s just say their playlist needed a serious update.
It didn’t take long to realize that finding a good spin studio is as easy as I thought. So, I enlisted the help of The Best Calgary team to explore other options. We hopped from studio to studio, joined classes, and got the scoop from seasoned spinners to bring you the best of the best.
After some dizzying spins and countless miles pedaled, here’s who made it onto our list of the best spin studios in Calgary.
How much does it cost to go to a spin class in a spin studio in Calgary?
It costs at least 5 CAD to go to spin class at a spin studio in Calgary. However, this is just an estimate and the final price will vary depending on the spin studio you choose and their membership prices.

We tried their signature class and they really dial up the energy with hip-hop, R&B, and even some trance and rock thrown in. The music kept us going, and they synced up choreographed moves with these wild visual effects.
The class wrapped up with a short cool-down and stretch. By the end, we were drenched but feeling refreshed.
\If you want the basics, the Rooie Ride is where it’s at. They teach you how to set up your bike, position your body, and master common moves. And from what we’ve gathered, the second half is an easy spin session, just enough to break a light sweat.
Other hardcore spinners raved about their Hills & HIITs and Jumps & Jobs. A few also told us they were hooked on the high-energy community classes and loved the opportunity to participate in charity rides.
That said, several people mentioned that the studio doesn’t always have the best air circulation.

The Sweat Lab stands out for its sweet deal for newbies. For just $25, first-time visitors can enjoy unlimited classes in their first week.
When we tried their 50-minute TSL Spin class, we really liked how the instructors made sure we were properly focusing on resistance training to build strength. A few regulars also told us they noticed significant improvements in their endurance after just a few weeks.
If you’re into mixing things up, the Spin + Barre is the perfect mix of high-energy and toning. There’s also a Spin + Circuit class—38 to 40 minutes of pure spin followed by 20 minutes of strength training.
For those looking to focus on their core, the Spin & Core class might be the way to go. Or if you want something a bit more relaxed, the Spin + Warm Barre Fusion.
But what really stood out to us among their offerings is the Spin + Yoga class, which is a cardio ride followed by a solid stretch session on the mat. It’s a 75-minute commitment, but the people we spoke to love how energized and relaxed they felt after these sessions.

One thing we immediately noticed while checking their studio out was how clean everything was. The bikes, the studio, even the locker rooms—spotless.
As for the classes themselves, the atmosphere is super energetic—almost infectious, really. They crank up the tunes, which can get pretty loud. That’s why we really appreciate that they have earplugs available for those who are sensitive when it comes to their hearing.
The instructors, or “motivators” as they call them, are a big part of what makes these classes so special. They bring this high-energy and positive vibe that’s honestly contagious, making it easy to stay engaged throughout the session.
We also appreciate the onsite medical director available. It shows that YYC Cycle is also super focused in keeping everyone injury-free.
The one downside we noted is that if you’re late to class, you’ll be asked to attend another.

5. HotShop Hot Yoga & Spin NW University
Address: 4625 Varsity Dr NW #208, Calgary, AB T3A 0Z9, Canada
Contact Details: +1 (403) 457-4711
Operating Hours:
- Monday to Friday – 5:30 AM to 10 PM
- Saturday – 8 AM to 1:30 PM
- Sunday – 8 AM to 8 PM
HotShop Hot Yoga & Spin has fully stocked, private showers. This is a huge win if, like us, you hate schlepping around with wet towels and shower caddies.
Oh, and speaking of towels, you can totally leave yours at home—HotShop provides them for free.
We really love that there are free lockers to stash our stuff. And, if you’re new to spinning, they’ve got Look KEO compatible shoes that you can borrow at no extra cost.
During class, the playlists are energetic. The instructors push you hard but make sure you’re having fun. They also make sure you’re properly set up on your bike too.
That said, we’ve noted the online booking system on their website was pretty glitchy and didnt really work for us at all. Your best bet is to call them or use their iPhone app, which thankfully is way more reliable.
As for pricing, HotShop has unlimited classes with their membership starting at $99 for two weeks. It’s not the cheapest, but for what you get—great instructors, quality equipment, and those clutch amenities—it might be worth it for some.
