So, I decided to look for lawn maintenance in Calgary that can handle the tough work for me. The weeding, mowing, and fertilising – I need a reliable company that really cares and knows everything about lawns.
I talked to other homeowners, dug through local forums, and reached out to some companies. Here are the one that stood out during my search!
How much does lawn maintenance cost in Calgary?
Lawn maintenance in Calgary may range from $32 to $50 per visit. It still depends on the schedule, like weekly, bi-weekly, or seasonal maintenance. Other factors that affect the pricing also include whether it’s a basic or full-service, and the yard size.

Green City caught my attention because they’re open on weekends. This is good news for busy people like me, whose free time is only Saturday and Sunday.
I also find their lawn maintenance services complete. They have weed control, core aeration, and mosquito control. They have almost everything a homeowner needs for their lawn.
Also, I like that they offer flexible weed control packages. Their bronze is the cheapest at $242.62, which includes season-long fertilisation and weed control plus complementary lawn checkups.
If you prefer a package with core aeration and unlimited weed control, and overseeding, they have it on their gold and diamond packages. Just expect to pay from $380 to less than $700.
I also appreciate the variety of their packages. You can just choose what fits your needs and budget, and adjust it accordingly if you need a more comprehensive service later on.
Their team is also another plus for us, especially Paul and Maavi. They’re professional and accommodating. They patiently attend to your questions and requests regarding the lawn.
The only thing to take note of is that they aren’t that responsive to email. I recommend sending them a quote request online and then following it up with a call.

Yard Dawgs Lawn Care is a company serving Alberta and Saskatchewan. The fact that they have expanded their service area proves that they’ve built a strong reputation over their 10 years of existence.
They’ve got a comprehensive list of services as well. From liquid aeration to weed control, they have it. If you have pest issues on your lawn, they also offer chinch bug control as a separate service, available outside of their packages.
Speaking of packages, they also offer nice lawn maintenance plans. Prices start at $327 with season-long fertiliser and unlimited weed control. They also have a more comprehensive one priced at $581 with aeration, DIY BarePatch Pro, and sea kelp.
I just found their packages a bit limited compared to other companies. Some companies offer at least four packages, while they only have three.
I mean, their existing plans already cover the essentials, but a bit more variety could help homeowners with different budgets or lawn needs find their perfect plan. Besides, their starting package is a bit expensive.
Despite that, I still think Yard Dawgs is a great option. They’re punctual and come fully equipped. They’re also nice to talk to, and they give practical advice on how you can keep your lawn healthy.

Green Drop Lawns Ltd is a family business that started in 1936. They’re one of the well-experienced companies I found when it comes to maintaining lawns.
One thing I like about this company is its solid workforce. They have plenty of staff. From managers to arborists, they have it, making their services more efficient. They’re unlike other companies that only have a few team members.
Aside from that, they also have a wide range of lawn care services. They offer soil booster, aeration, and overseeding. Of course, that’s aside from the basic mowing and weed control.
I also find their lawn maintenance packages great. They only have three packages, but I like the coverage. Their most basic plan includes regular maintenance, unlimited weed control, and already features their drought-fighter service.
For a more comprehensive plan, their third package ($524.92) includes soil booster, aeration, and a comprehensive tree care assessment.
One potential limitation is their availability. They offer a wide range of lawn care services and also serve five additional areas beyond Calgary, which may impact their availability.

Nutri-Lawn has been serving property owners for 35 years. I believe they’ve seen and handled numerous lawns that made them experts in this field.
It’s also good to know that they offer lawn care to commercial spaces as well. Not all companies target both residential and commercial lawns, and I’m glad we found Nutri-Lawn.
Their lawn maintenance service is also quite comprehensive. They offer overseeding, fertilisation, and aeration. Many customers are also happy with their weed control.
I also like that they provide eco-friendly lawn care options. They have organic or low-impact products, ideal if you have pets or kids.
Another thing that stood out to me is their excellent customer support. Their team is easy to talk to. They’ll listen to your concerns about your lawn and really explain what treatment is needed to be included in your lawn maintenance.
The only thing to note is that their billing can sometimes be a mess. A customer said they overbilled him, and they didn’t issue a refund.

From mowing to fertiliser and weed control, they’ve got you covered. Another thing I like about Property Werks is that they have fall and spring cleanups. Seasonal services like these can help prevent issues, like overgrown weeds.
Impressively, they also have a mobile application you can use to book and track your service. It puts everything in place – from booking to billing.
It’s also worth mentioning that they provide you with before-and-after photos of your lawn once they’re done. It gives you that personalised service and lets you check their work without having to inspect every inch of your yard.
Just one thing I noticed is that they don’t have packages, like the other companies. Instead, they have scheduled service for lawn mowing, fertilising, and weeding. It can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
Other services, like aeration, are available as an add-on. This system makes their services more expensive for customers who want a comprehensive lawn care service.
