The 5 Best Hotels Close to Calgary Airport for a Layover You Won’t Want to Leave

Reviews: I scoured travel forums and Google Reviews to see what real travelers had to say about each hotel. I paid close attention to comments about cleanliness, comfort, staff friendliness, and any issues travelers encountered.

Location: I prioritized hotels within a short, convenient distance from the airport. I favored those with easy access to transportation options like shuttle services or public transit.

Value for Money: I looked for hotels that offered a good balance between price and quality.

Hotel Amenities: I compared hotels based on their amenities and services, such as swimming pools, fitness centers, business centers, and in-room features. I also considered breakfast options.

Want to know my worst nightmare? A canceled flight and being stuck overnight at the airport. And I’m left with no choice but to curl up tightly on one of those uncomfortable metal chairs.

Thank goodness for hotels near the airport—they’re lifesavers. But they aren’t always up to par. I once ended up in a place with stained carpets and a very sad breakfast buffet.

That experience made me realize the importance of doing your research when it comes to airport hotels.

Good thing there are top-notch hotels near Calgary International Airport. So, whether you’re facing a flight delay or arriving late at night, here are my recommendations.

How much does it cost to stay in a hotel close to Calgary airport?

It costs at least 50 CAD to stay in a hotel close to Calgary airport. However, this is just an estimate. The actual price will vary depending on the hotel, amenities, and other factors.

The Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is located right inside the airport terminal—no more stressful airport transfers, especially when you have connecting flights or arrive late at night.

What surprised me was how peaceful the hotel was despite being inside the airport. They’ve done a great job creating a tranquil atmosphere that shields you from the airport hustle and bustle.

The rooms and suites are spacious, which is a luxury in airport hotels. I really appreciate the plush, comfortable beds and high-quality linens. I also love the flat-screen TVs, ample workspaces, and well-appointed bathrooms.

My favorite? The heated indoor pool and whirlpool. They’re perfect for unwinding after a long flight.

Many guests also rave about the state-of-the-art fitness center, perfect for keeping up with your workout routine while traveling.

Plus, the hotel being pet-friendly is a huge perk for travelers with furry companions.

The only downside to Yakima Social Kitchen + Bar, located inside the hotel, was the food. It arrived cold, and the cocktails were mostly ice with little flavor.

Pros

  • Convenient in-terminal location
  • Tranquil atmosphere
  • Spacious rooms and suites
  • Comfortable beds
  • Plenty of amenities
  • Pet-friendly

Cons

  • Disappointing food

Smooth check-in process

“After a long day of traveling and a late-night check-in, the Marriott Terminal Hotel was exactly what we needed. The location, right in the terminal, was such a relief! It made everything so much easier and added to the overall convenience. The night audit staff made the check-in process super smooth and stress-free, which we really appreciated.

The M Club Lounge was great! There was a nice selection of snacks to recharge before heading to bed, and breakfast the next morning was amazing. A big shoutout to Paris, who was so friendly and welcoming and made the experience even better.

Overall, it was a comfortable and hassle-free stay in the perfect location. We’d definitely recommend it and look forward to coming back!”

Friendly and very helpful staff

“The staff were all friendly and very helpful.  The venue and facilities were all nice and clean.  You cannot beat the location if you have an international flight to catch the next day.  It literally is next door to the international terminal entrance (like maybe 20-30 feet apart).  The food from the restaurant was fantastic.  We had a great experience.  It is more expense than other surrounding options, but you get what you pay for and cannot beat the location if you are flying out from the airport.”

Wonderful hotel restaurant, gym pool, and sauna

“Our flight was cancelled until the next day  we had no where to go so we booked a room at this hotel at 930 am. They had our room which was one of the nicest suites we have ever stayed in.  The gentleman Karim at the front desk got us the complimentary shuttle to the airport to pick us up. We were greeted with a smile and given all the information we needed for our stay. The hotel restaurant food, gym pool, sauna all wonderful.  The service at this hotel was outstanding.”

From the moment I stepped inside, I felt the stress of travel melt away. The rooms are spacious—a generous 360 square feet.

I loved the plush beds, and the bathrooms have those luxurious deep soaker tubs with body jets. Even the linens are top-notch.

I also absolutely enjoyed the two rooftop hot tubs. And their on-site restaurant isn’t too bad, either.

However, the hotel can get a little crowded in the evenings when the restaurant and bar are busy. I’d recommend making reservations if you plan to dine in.

Courteous and helpful staff

Chose this hotel out of the options provided by my airline after a delayed flight and was really happy with my choice! The hotel has a 24 hour shuttle service from/to the airport provided and they were able to pick me up in the middle of the night and drop me off for my flight in the early hours of the morning. Everyone working at the hotel, starting with the shuttle driver, Lucky, was courteous and helpful! Would definitely stay here again if I was looking for a hotel close to the Calgary airport!”

Punctual airport shuttle

“We’re from Red Deer and any time we fly out of YYC, we stay the night before at the Clique. The airport shuttle is punctual, and factoring in a week’s parking makes the overnight stay more than worth it. Reception is friendly and helpful, the rooftop hot tubs are fun and the restaurant has great wings. It’s a relaxing way to start off a vacation or trip and takes away all of the morning-of-travel stress!”

The indoor pool was clean and well-maintained, with plenty of lounge chairs for relaxation. The gym, while standard, was solid for getting in a quick workout.
