A dirty flue can turn a cozy winter evening into a fire hazard. Soot and creosote build up all season, so a wood-burning hearth needs a sweep before the cold nights arrive.
Whether you need a Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT) inspection for your insurer or just quick vent care, a reliable sweep makes all the difference.
I compared local feedback, pricing and service quality across the city, including a few that also offer fireplace repair in Calgary.

Keeping up with whole-home vent care gets easier when one crew handles both your HVAC system and your hearth. The Ductibles cleans furnace ducts, dryer vents, and fireplace flues in one efficient visit.
Their trained crews use high-powered rotary brushes and vacuum systems to loosen and extract accumulated soot, dust, and debris from the flue while minimizing mess around the fireplace.
During my last spring tune-up, I had them clear out my main flue, and the crew left the hearth spotless.
Keep in mind that chimney sweeping isn’t their main specialty. You’ll need another contractor for complex masonry fixes that sit outside their cleaning scope.
He was very thorough and explained things along the way.
Excellent service, i would definitely use them again. Service was a 10🌟! Vernon is the best Technician I have ever experienced. He was very thorough and explained things along the way. I would highly recommend The Ductibles and will use them again for my next furnace and duct cleaning.
I’m very happy with management as well. They were very accommodating.

Chimney maintenance involves more than removing soot. You also need specialists who can spot potential problems, handle repairs, and provide proper inspections.
K&S Chimney Services covers these needs with chimney sweeping, repairs, maintenance, certified WETT inspections, and dryer vent cleaning across Calgary, Banff, and Canmore.
Their flat-rate pricing keeps costs straightforward. Clear bundles cover combined sweeps and insurance inspections, and there are no extra travel fees, so you know the full cost before they arrive.
The paperwork is just as clear. A homeowner in my neighbourhood hired them for a real estate inspection and raved about their thorough photo reports.
That said, commercial or dryer vent work means sending a separate inquiry. Peak winter appointments also fill up fast.
The pricing was great, with no hidden or extra charges
I had a great experience with K&S Chimney Services! Matt was incredibly helpful, friendly and full of knowledge. He was thorough, efficient and made sure all my questions were answered. The pricing was great, with no hidden or extra charges for the location. It’s clear he truly cares about his work and his customers. I will definitely be using his services again next year for our chimney inspection and sweep. Highly recommend!

Wood-burning fireplaces need care because heavy creosote buildup is a real fire risk over time, so regular sweeps matter. Tout’Sweep, based in the Bragg Creek area, focuses on wood-burning units and certified WETT safety inspections.
Their technicians use special tools to remove stubborn glaze and soot without letting loose debris into your home.
They also take time to explain good wood-burning habits, so you burn fuel cleanly and safely all winter. That keeps your fireplace efficient and your household safe long term.
Just be aware that pricing depends on travel distance and seasonal timing, so you’ll need to request a personalized quote before you book. And rates run higher in peak winter months.
I highly suggest Tout Sweep for your chimney cleaning needs!
Phil did a great job for us. He found a way to work with my schedule as well as checked in if it was okay if he showed up early. He was clean, thorough and was great with my three kids who insisted on watching. The best part was that he told me if I’m burning the same amount and kind of wood that I could consider reducing the cleaning frequency. I highly suggest Tout Sweep for your chimney cleaning needs!

Sinead made me feel like a superstar!
Phil was professional and on time. He left the place clean and tidy and was very knowledgeable about everything chimney 🙂
Would absolutely recommend their service. The estimate he gave us was what was charged for his service. He was a real pleasure to deal with.

Decades of hands-on construction experience give a chimney contractor an edge when structural problems show up.
Olde London Chimney Sweep pairs routine flue care with heavy repairs like repointing, rebuilding, flashing, and custom cap installs.
Their team has over 20 years in the trade and handles everything from stubborn animal removal to full fireplace overhauls, so most structural problems stay with one crew.
Their estimates are clear too. They spell out the work and the price before anything starts on your roof.
However, a standalone WETT check costs extra, at $350 on its own. Factor that in if you only need an inspection.
They struck me as particularly knowledgeable in terms of what needed..
We recently had water leaking in by our chimney, and previously received mixed and conflicting advice on how to fix. Olde London came, assessed the problem and fixed the issue for a very fair price. They struck me as particularly knowledgeable in terms of what needed to be done.

They were great! They answered my questions and were polite
2023: Jonah and Daniel came by to check out the chimney and do a sweep. They were great! They answered my questions and were polite and cleaned up after themselves. 100% recommend them for your chimney needs. Really happy with their service.
2024 Update: had Benjamin today, same great service and really kind. He was here to do a chimney sweep and was quick and cleaned up after himself. Again we would recommend!

A smoky fireplace or sooty flue is hard to fix without years of hands-on experience.
Crown Chimney Sweeps has over 40 years of local experience, so they handle thorough soot removal, damper fixes and smoke troubleshooting on every residential job.
That experience helps them diagnose tricky drafting problems quickly, which saves you from smoky living rooms.
Their technicians also use careful protective measures to keep your living space clean while they clear stubborn flue blockages.
They serve Calgary and nearby towns like Airdrie and Okotoks, and their know-how helps keep your fireplace safer and more efficient.
The downside is that the fall schedule fills up quickly, so book early before cold weather hits.
They are solidly priced, do great work, and are helpful
We moved into our first home and the home inspection noted that our traditional fireplace required a cleaning. We decided to go with Crown Chimney and couldn’t be happier with their service. They are solidly priced, do great work, and are helpful with explaining any questions you have about the work they’re doing. They even provide a short report with photos after their cleaning. I highly recommend them!

I am very happy with their services.
Had amazing service with Crown Chimney Sweeps. From calling in and getting professional and kind service on the phone, to being told I don’t need to pay for an extra service I assumed I needed, to a quick appointment turnaround (found some time for me very fast) to the in person service today, I am very happy with their services.
Will definitely use them again when I need another fireplace cleaning! Thanks for helping me get my fireplace ready to use for my first fire in my home 🙂
