Like us humans, with our skin, our pets need their fur to regulate their temperature and keep out nasty stuff in the environment. But when your average bathing-and-brushing combo isn’t enough, taking them to a grooming service can really help!
Recently, I’ve been so busy that I haven’t gotten the chance to give my dogs a proper touch-up in a while. Luckily, my pet sitter and some friends helped me do a round trip to look at pet grooming services in Calgary, and boy, did we get quite the list!

Most pet owners will probably know how tricky it is to pick out hygiene products for your pal, making a big appeal for going to a pet grooming service instead. Keeping that in mind, locals we asked about their go-to starting salon pointed us to Bath & Tidy!
Right off the jump, we were pleasantly surprised by how quickly the team responded to our inquiries! They were more than happy to explain what went on during their grooming services, and customers also reportedly received regular updates on the progress too.
Their grooming services were also pretty varied, applicable to both dogs and cats. Their offerings included quick services for walk-in appointments like paw trims and teeth brushing, alongside appointment-based haircuts and deshedding services.
That being said, we did hear some pretty good things about their timeliness from customers we got to chat with. Many mentioned being able to get appointments scheduled pretty easily, with some managing to get their pets even on short notice.
Finally, customers also appreciated the options for products used during the service. Bath & Tidy reportedly offered scent-free products, which was quite the bonus to clients with allergies or sensitivities to certain smells!
One last piece of advice some customers left with us was to request a price breakdown, if possible. A few mentioned feeling their price quotes were unclear, leading to some fees being higher or lower than expected.

Okay, we’ve all heard about grooming for cats and dogs, but folks with feathery friends shouldn’t be left out of the party either! Given that bird care can be a tricky process, you can imagine our delight when Bark & Feathers landed on our radar.
Their offerings were pretty varied when we reached out to take a look. They offered various grooming services, such as deshedding for animals with thick coats, classic baths, and nail trimming and care to keep your pet’s nails healthy and safe.
What really got our attention was the wide range of animals they supported. As their name implies, the service covered animals like dogs and cats, but also provided grooming services for various pet birds, from canaries to parrots.
When we got to chat with a few regulars of the service, many were happy to praise their scheduling, which allows same-day bookings. We find this pretty handy for those looking to just get their pets neat and tidy after a walk, for example!
All these came at surprisingly reasonable prices, even compared to other pet grooming services around the area. The pricing was a plus in our book, especially for customers who want more in-depth grooming services for their pet without breaking the bank.
That said, some customers mentioned settling in for quite a wait when you get your pet groomed here! The service times could reportedly take pretty long, so we’d advise coming in early or keeping your schedule free just in case.

Who says salons are just for humans? Not the locals who helped put Bath to Bow Grooming Salon on our radar! This salon rose to popularity among folks in Calgary for their in-depth grooming services, and we couldn’t resist that kind of reception!
The first thing we had to note was the salon space itself. We were pleased to walk into a clean shop with a comfortable waiting area, with the space kept well-maintained for the various pets that come through their door.
While there, we got to chat with staff and regulars and heard about their offerings. The salon offered services like classic nail trims, tooth brushing, and even ear cleaning. Their specific dog-grooming cuts were also quite popular among pup owners!
Of course, we asked customers about what drew them to the salon, and we heard varied answers! A particular highlight was the attention to detail the team paid to their pets during grooming, carefully accounting for their coats and skin.
The products used at the salon also received praise from regulars. Many mentioned these being pretty gentle on pet coats and fur, while the shampoos used left a clean, fresh scent.
That said, we heard from regulars that the salon offered limited support for elderly pets, especially given these animals’ comfort levels and existing conditions. We’d definitely save this salon for your younger pups and kittens, in this case.

Sometimes, dear Fido rolls in freshly cut grass, or Mittens gets stuck in a tree and thus gets leaves all tangled in its fine coat. If you need a grooming service that gets the job done quickly and is budget-friendly, locals swear by Bridlewood Pet Grooming.
Bridlewood’s offerings included a wide variety of services. They offered basic services like quick tidying and nail trimming. We also noted their service packages, including baths with blow-drying and the adorably named pawdicure for nail care.
Their grooming services also don’t take overly long. They’re quick without sacrificing the attention to detail needed for such delicate work.
We also appreciate the team’s gentle approach to more nervous pets, especially elderly pets. A few pet owners praised the team for keeping their pets comfortable throughout and for not keeping them any longer than necessary.
All these came at quite budget-friendly prices. Grooming services can cost a pretty penny for larger pets with longer coats, so we’d definitely keep this place in mind if you have such a pet.
If you’re planning to visit the salon, ask locals and staff for directions if you can! We had some trouble finding the salon on our drive there, and we had to park quite a ways off as a result.

It can be tricky to find a grooming service that can get your pet’s look down to the T. Fortunately, the Roxy Rover Pet Spa can be trusted with that.
We swung by for a visit once we had the chance, and we were pleased to be met immediately with a comfortable shop space. The ambiance was pretty welcoming, and who could resist all the pets patiently waiting their turn at the lobby?
We also found it pretty refreshing to get so much info from the team. The team was happy to walk us through their process, services, and even the products used.
From there, we got to hear about their services for both cats and dogs! We particularly noted the careful grooming for cats, including trimming around the paw pads and lion cuts for cats with longer coats.
As with any cosmetic treatment, certain owners might want specific looks for their pets. Luckily, the team is pretty flexible with customer requests. We’d advise consulting with them if you have a look in mind!
That said, the cost for their services could be pretty high. We’d definitely recommend consulting with the team to get a ballpark price for your pet’s coat and size before committing to a service.
